Child Labour in Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mines in Uganda: Are Legal Protections Adequate?

Abstract Child labour is prevalent in both developed and developing countries has become a global concern. This because of the negative impacts that it not only on human rights fundamental freedoms children, but their development health due to possible exposure hazardous substances. article interrogates magnitude problem child gold mines Uganda seeks highlight gaps existing legal framework protection Ugandan children from labour. It asserts although poverty failed educational system are believed be root causes Uganda, weak inefficient laws coupled with lack coordination between institutions responsible for protecting contribute equally. Thus there need political will by government help prevent problem.
